I just read an awesome new one called I Haiku You! by Betsy Snyder Its about all kinds of love. My favorite is about the puppy one! Of course, can't hurt to add some Haiku in from time to time. I also love the book on the lead picture by Diane deGroat. I used it to discuss whats kinds of friendship overtures that students can make to someone who has been mean to them in the past. They had some great ideas!
I never read Valentine's books in the library. I use to teach with a teacher who said, "Valentine's Day is a bigger headache than Halloween. The kis are more wired. Happy love to all of you!
I kinow it's kind of an older book, but I used to love to read "Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch". It is one of those sad, happy books and teaches a real important lesson on how we should treat people.
I love to read books that are holiday themed, and the kids love to be read to. I read Love Splat and the kids really enjoyed it. As I read so many of the books you have shared I agree with all of them. I have read all of them one year or another. How lucky are we to get to share great stories!
I hope someone has some good suggestions, because this is one that I really struggle with.

ReplyDeleteThe kids love "Fluffy's Valentine's Day". It is about a hamster with attitude.

ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, for sharing Valentine's books. I'm going to order some of these. We are sorely lacking in our library in this department.
