In 1967, her very first 2 books, From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and Hennifer, Hecate, Macbeth, William McKinley, and Me, Elizabeth won the Newbery and Newbery Honor Awards. She is the only author to have won both a Newbery and a Newbery Honor in the same year.

A sad day to loose another wonderful author. I think the Mixed-up files was my favorite.
