  1. Once again today, I was astounded at the vast wealth of information available to us in so many different forms. What a world!

  3. I feel overwhelmed by the number of apps available every time I look. One app I loaded over a year ago is Sleep Genius. It was developed in Utah County using sleep research done for NASA. I think it has been helping me to get to sleep faster, and the wakeup alarm function is not as jarring as most alarm clocks. Best of all - its free.

  4. I like goodnotes- its an app that allows you to take handwritten notes and has lots of other features. You can open pdf files with goodnotes and than highlight and take notes on the pdf and best of all it syncs to drop box so all your work is saved in the cloud.
Another app I love is keeper. This is a secure place to store your passwords. It allows you to make files so organization is easy and for a fee you can sync across all your devices.

  5. I have been using Newify for following blogs, which I like quite a bit. I was hoping someone knew of a great "learn-Spanish" app. :-)

  6. I was looking for some fun ways to show the differences in fact and opinion. I found a Garfield cartoon app that is simple and fun for the students to see. It is free as well.

  7. I just found a new app over the weekend (new to me anyway). It is called Invention, and was created by the British Science Museum and Touch Press. It is similar to Connections by James Burke, and follows the connected pathways between 80 different inventions of the machine, electrical, and digital age. Very British centered, but fascinating non the less. There is a free version - limited data of course, and a pay version which opens up the whole collection of inventions.

  8. The app I use the most just for me is Zite. Reading the articles gathered there is like eating potato chips...just one more. I have also enjoyed some of the photography and music apps. It is fun for me to explore the possibilities. One I would recommend is Appsgonefree. Everyday they list apps which usually have a price tag but are temporarily free. And there are two similar ones which I have started using with the students. They are ShowMe and Educreations. They make it easy to make little instructional videos or tutorials similar to those on Khan Academy.

  11. The Paprika Recipe App is my favorite. It costs about $5.00 for each device which is a drawback. However, I like it on my iPad due to the large screen.
