Charlotte Zolotow

Charlotte Zolotow died last week November 19th.  She was 98 years old!

I used to occasionally use The Quarreling Book in the library and talk about appropriate behavior.

Here is a list of the many many books that she wrote.

  1. It is unfortunate, but perhaps time. But did no one else note the passing of Barbara Parks (Junie B.Jones) also last week from Cancer. She was 56 if my memory of the news article is correct. Too many good people dying.

    1. Oh, that hits close to home. The 56 I mean.

  2. I actually have some of her books in East's Library in the picture books section. I can't really remember reading any of her books but I probably did when I was in the elementary library.
I do remember Junie B Jones books, however. Sorry to hear about Barbara Parks. That's awfully young.

  3. What a wonderful legacy she has left us. I also knew about Barbara Parks. It was actually a student that came up and told me. They were very sad to lose a good friend. The good news is, that they are not lost, we read from them over and over again.

  4. I also noticed Barbara Parks death. Makes me sad to lose her -- so many little girls and so many happy hours of reading!

  5. We don't have any of her books here at Glendale and I have never read her books! My loss...

  6. It is always sad when we lose a children's author. I often think of Charlotte Zolotow when I reshelf picture books in the "z's" simply because there are not many authors with a Z last name. I was very sad to hear of the passing of Barbara Park. There will never be another Junie B Jones. And Her Mick Harte was here is one of my favorite tear jerkers.

  7. Shock! I did not know that Barbara Park died! Oh cry, cry! I am glad her books are classic, so they will be in print for a long time. As far as Charlotte Zolotow....I want to be her when I grow up!
